WALTHAM Centre for Pet Nutrition opened its doors as a dedicated science centre for Mars Petcare in 1973. The name reflected the commitment to understanding the nutritional needs of pets to improve the health for cats, dogs, horses and fish globally.
Our biomarkers research and pet obesity insights have been instrumental in the development of some of these tools, which aim to promote proactive pet health and wellness.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is notoriously challenging to treat. As the Mayo Clinic says, there is no “one size fits all” treatment. That is why, when a study shows a treatment that enables children with ASD to make real progress, the treatment calls for further research. It’s not enough to know that a treatment is effective. Rigorous science will help us learn why, for whom and how long this treatment should be recommended.
It reflects our respect for pets and the importance of the foods we make. At Mars Petcare we have always taken pet nutrition seriously and in 2010 we constructed our guiding principles for pet food and nutrition. This philosophy builds on our historical approach and demonstrates our commitment to leading in the world of pet nutrition and care in the future.
