Dr Sandra McCune visits Japan to speak about Human-Animal Interaction research

Dr Sandra McCune, Human-Animal Interaction (HAI) Scientific Leader, at the WALTHAM Centre for Pet Nutrition visited Japan to share her expertise in HAI and pet care

On September 29, Dr McCune gave a presentation at the Japanese Board of Veterinary Practitioners meeting in Tokyo. The subject of her talk was ‘Pet ownership; its impact on health and well-being in humans and pets’. She introduced the nature and history of the human-animal relationship and shared results showing the physical and psychological benefits of pet ownership. The event was extremely well supported with over 250 veterinarians, pet owners and other professionals in attendance.

The following day Dr McCune spoke at Teikyo University of Science, Tokyo about WALTHAM and recent findings in the areas of cat behaviour and the relationship between cats and humans.
