Undergraduate student placements at the WALTHAM Centre for Pet Nutrition

DF3W2706

The WALTHAM Centre for Pet Nutrition offers a range of research opportunities for undergraduates. You’ll find out first-hand what it’s like to work in industry, be given real responsibility, freedom, and a chance to enhance your scientific and business skills.

Our undergraduate student program provides you with an opportunity to deliver your own research and development project, working on a real business challenge. We can offer projects in several different research areas including dog and cat nutrition and metabolism, digestive health, feeding performance and oral care, fish nutrition and health, and human-animal interaction.

We have two types of student placements available; summer placements (typically 3 – 6 months) and industrial placements (12 months). Both would start around June/July each year and be based in one of our research teams or within the laboratory team here at WALTHAM.

As part of your placement you will be given full responsibility and freedom to lead your own project, whilst being fully supported by your manager and an experienced team. To ensure you get the most out of your placement with us, you’ll work with your manager to create a personal development plan, setting yourself challenging learning objectives so that you not only gain technical scientific skills, but you also get the chance to develop professional business skills.

These exciting and prestigious student placements will give you the opportunity to work in a world leading scientific research centre and produce knowledge to aid our understanding of pet nutrition and health. You will need strong learning abilities, curiosity and a real drive for results.
